HOW TO REQUEST MOVE-OUT/SERVICE DISCONNECTION
Per District policy, a customer must provide a written request to the District for service in his or her name to be disconnected. The written request must include the following:
Service can be disconnected Monday through Friday.
Please allow one business day for processing.
The request can be in the form of an email to customerservice@wcid17.org or by completing the Move-Out/Service Disconnection Form. If you choose to submit your form online, please know the form must be downloaded onto your computer and opened in Adobe Reader first before you are able to fill and submit the completed form. A refund in an amount less than $1.00 will not be processed. The District shall take a final reading of the meter on the disconnection day and will turn the service off. All customers shall be responsible for water and wastewater service charges until such time as notice has been given to the District that service in their name is to be terminated.
In addition, all builders and contractors within the District must ensure that all required inspections be completed and permits closed out. If a builder or contractor does not notify the District to terminate service to a property and the homeowner has not submitted an application for service, then, even though the homeowner is living on the property, the builder or contractor will still be responsible to the District for the bills until notice of termination of service has been received.
Please refer to the Rules and Policies below.
