WCID 17 is a Water and Wastewater Utility located in Texas near Lakeway

District 17 seeks applicants for:

ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT –  full-time, non-supervisory position to perform clerical, administrative, data processing and accounting work assisting District Accountant.

Must be able to type 30 words per minute for data entry. Must have telephone answering skills and general administrative experience in organizing and filing. Must have data base creation and management experience skills as well as some experience in bookkeeping and personnel payroll.

Tools and equipment use:  Computer, 10-key calculator, phone, fax and copy machine, mail and postage machine.

Examples of work include bank reconciliation; property tax reconciliation; prepare monthly invoices from consultant services for monthly Board Meetings; prepare daily bank deposits, cash drawers, wire payments; along with other accounting duties.

IT/SCADA SUPPORT –  full-time, entry level IT/SCADA support person. The IT/SCADA department works closely with water and wastewater facilities and office personnel.

Qualifications For This Position Include:

  • Experience with computers, software and peripherals.
  • A self-motivated individual; good team player; someone who takes accountability and ownership of his/her own work with a strong attention to detail
  • Exhibit willingness and ability to work with different personalities and work styles
  • Ability to work schedules which include On-Call rotation, some weekend and after hours (overtime) work as required

Responsibilities will include:

  • Build and install desktop and laptop PC’s
  • Install and troubleshoot Office Suite and Google e-mail
  • Install and troubleshoot printers
  • Install and troubleshoot network
  • Documentation of network and IT inventory
  • Some PLC and SCADA training

WASTEWATER ASSISTANT OPERATOR – Help operate and maintain wastewater pump stations; check and adjust chemical feed equipment; perform control room duties and operate computers; perform laboratory analysis of wastewater samples.  TCEQ class C or D WW operator license necessary.  Valid TX driver’s license required with Class B CDL.  Ability to work overtime as necessary.

WASTEWATER COLLECTIONS OPERATOR – Help operate and maintain wastewater pump stations, check and adjust chemical feed equipment, perform camera testing and water jetting of wastewater laterals and mains, repair wastewater mains, operate jet and camera truck equipment.  Will train for this position and ability to obtain Commercial Driver’s License necessary.


All field positions require HS Diploma or GED; Valid Texas Driver’s License; Ability to work overtime as necessary, and good communication skills.  Tools are provided for all positions.
