WCID 17 is a Water and Wastewater Utility located in Texas near Lakeway

District 17 seeks applicants for:

MAINTENANCE AND ASSET MANAGER –  Full time Manager needed to be responsible for establishing and overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations and asset management and planning.  Major responsibilities will also include administration, management, technical duties and personnel oversight as directed.  For complete Position Description, please use this link.

WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR Full time Operator to be responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing equipment for municipal water treatment; keeping records on plant operations; cleaning and maintaining pump stations and site grounds upkeep. Water treatment plant uses membrane microfiltration treatment processing.  Membrane experience is a plus, will train on membrane operations. Requirements include High School Graduate or GED; minimum Surface Water Class C license from TCEQ; a valid Texas driver’s license with the ability to obtain CDL license; and ability to work overtime and on-call.  Computer and controls knowledge a plus.

FIELD SERVICE MECHANIC– Candidates must have experience troubleshooting and maintaining pump control panels with two layers of control, consisting of an RTU as the primary control of pump operations and monitoring of all fault and alarms to report to SCADA, as well as a liquid level controller and relay logic required to facilitate pump control in AUTO or HAND.  Any knowledge of submersible pump operation and troubleshooting is a plus.  The ability to operate a standard crane truck is also a plus.  Ability to work overtime and be on-call on a regular rotation as necessary.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR  – Operates and maintains the District’s wastewater treatment facilities; trains utility technicians and trainees in plant operations and maintenance; and TCEQ’s licensing requirements. Class “D” or higher Wastewater Certification from TCEQ required.

SCADA SUPPORT STAFF – Full-time, entry level with responsibilities of PLC and SCADA troubleshooting and configuration; install and troubleshoot SCADA and IT network; documentation of network and IT inventory; and some IT support will include Office Suite, Gmail, desktop/laptop and printers. Experience with Motorola ACE 36xx and AB PLC’s to include MODBUS DeviceNet and Ethernet communications beneficial.  Ability to work overtime as necessary and on-call.


All field positions require HS Diploma or GED; Valid Texas Driver’s License; Ability to work overtime as necessary, and good communication skills.  Tools are provided for all positions.
