WCID 17 is a Water and Wastewater Utility located in Texas near Lakeway

District 17 seeks applicants for:

WATER PLANT OPERATOR –  WCID 17 uses state of the art membrane microfiltration treatment processing. This position will be responsible for safely operating; maintaining and repairing equipment for municipal water treatment; keeping records on plant operations; cleaning and maintaining pump stations and plant grounds. Must be available for On-call rotation and able to communicate with employees and the public in a courteous and diplomatic manner as well as able to respond in emergency situations and irregular schedules with overtime.  A Plant Operator must possess the ability to read English and comprehend technical information and perform mathematical calculations.

CONSTRUCTION / PLUMBING INSPECTOR II – full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Inspections Supervisor and is responsible for conducting construction and plumbing inspections of municipal and residential water and sewer systems.  Must have an active Plumbing Inspector License issued by the State Board of Plumbing Examiners.

UTILITY TECHNICIAN TRAINEE  – Work on water distribution and wastewater collection systems, install water and sewer taps, install and replace meters, repair leaks and perform general manual maintenance. Will train.  Valid TX Driver’s license; all tools provided. Ability to work overtime as necessary.

WASTEWATER COLLECTIONS OPERATOR  – Help operate and maintain wastewater pump stations; check and adjust chemical feed equipment; perform camera testing and water jetting of wastewater laterals and mains, repair wastewater mains; operate jet and camera truck equipment. Ability to obtain Commercial Driver’s License necessary and will train for this position.

WASTEWATER ASSISTANT OPERATOR  – Help operate and maintain wastewater pump stations; check and adjust chemical feed equipment; perform control room duties and operate computers; perform laboratory analysis of wastewater samples. TCEQ Class C or D Wastewater Operator License necessary. Valid TX driver’s license required with Class B CDL.  Ability to work overtime as necessary.


All field positions require HS Diploma or GED; Valid Texas Driver’s License; Ability to work overtime as necessary, and good communication skills.  Tools are provided for all positions.
