Plumbing Inspections

These requirements are not all inclusive. Please refer to the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2015 edition and local amendments for additional information.

Five Inspections Required

  1. Rough In: Drains, waste, vents are supported and in place. Tests on and ready to be verified. All pipes and fittings to be exposed for visual inspection. If a building permit is required, a building layout is required prior to this inspection request.
  2. Copper: Lines in place and protected with no joints in the slab or PVC Wrap (pre-pour).
  3. Top-out: All pipes are in place, supports connected, vent takeoffs and trap arms are completed, water heater, water, sewer, and gas lines (natural gas) are in place and ready for inspection.
  4. Yardline: Trenches properly excavated, pipes properly placed with adequate separation and proper bedding and backfill available.
  5. Final: All valves and fixtures installed, all vents completed and protected from ultraviolet rays. Water system tested. Gas pipes connected and tested. Septic or sewer connected. Combustion air supply to all gas fired appliances.
