District 17 seeks applicants for:

ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT – ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE – Full-time position for an individual to perform clerical, administrative, data processing, and accounting work by assisting the Accountant.  See full Position Description using the link on the title.

CONSTRUCTION / PLUMBING INSPECTOR II –  Full-time position for an individual to perform routine semi-skilled and technical construction inspection work for water, sewer, plumbing inspections and other projects and programs.  Assures compliance with federal, state and local codes and standards and contractual provisions.

FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN -Candidate will maintain, install, repair, overhaul electrically driven pumps, wiring systems, motors, control valves, and pressure valves on water and wastewater treatment equipment; operate 6,000-pound crane truck.  Candidate needs two-years’ experience in water utility maintenance or equivalent and ability to work in confined spaces.  Candidate is required to have a HS Diploma or GED; Valid Texas Driver’s License; Ability to work overtime as necessary, and good communication skills.

MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN – Water and Wastewater utility near Mansfield Dam on Lake Travis seeks an electrician to perform skilled electrical work in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic systems, equipment and fixtures up to 600 VAC associated with water treatment, distribution and wastewater treatment.  Minimum of two (2) years experience in electrical maintenance required. SCADA/Control knowledge a plus.

OFFICE ASSISTANT – Full-time position for an individual to perform clerical and administrative work by assisting the Office Supervisor.  See full Position Description using the link on the title.

STAFF ACCOUNTANT – Full-time position to perform clerical, administrative, data processing and accounting work assisting the Accountant.  Requirements for this position include, but not limited to, ability to type 30 words per minute for data entry.  Must have telephone answering skills and general administrative experience skills as well as some experience in bookkeeping and personnel payroll.

TEAM LEADER, GROUNDSKEEPING -Candidate will be a working leader responsible for managing the groundskeeping of the district facilities.  This includes planning, directing, and leading landscape crew activities.  Candidate will provide onsite supervision of personnel to ensure quality results.

WATER UTILITY OPERATOR  – Full-time position to help operate and maintain water treatment facility, including performing tests on pumps, motors, and water, maintaining logs, and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment.  Perform duties essential to operate and maintain water distribution and wastewater collection systems, including installing and replacing water meters, repairing water leaks, and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on water lines.  Candidate must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and prefer Class C Surface Water Certification from the TCEQ.
