Water

All operations at the District’s treatment facilities are regulated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). WCID No. 17’s drinking water meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements and has been rated “Superior” by the State of Texas.

Both of WCID No. 17’s water treatment plants use state-of-the-art membrane microfiltration technology, capable of removing particles as small as 0.1 microns—including many bacteria, protozoa, and other contaminants.
