It is with mixed emotions that the District announces the retirement of Juan Sanchez, who will be departing WCID No. 17 after more than 20 years of dedicated service.
Juan began his career with the District in 2004 as a utility technician, where he was responsible for meter reading and the installation of water service connections. Through hard work and a commitment to excellence, he quickly rose through the ranks, eventually taking on leadership of the Construction Inspections department. In this role, Juan played a key part in ensuring compliance with both state and local regulations.
As his career progressed, Juan rose to his current position as Manager of Field Operations where he was responsible for all Water Distribution, Safety, and Planning & Development operations within the District.
Over the years, Juan earned multiple state licenses in water operations and distribution, demonstrating his deep knowledge and dedication to the field. His professionalism and exceptional service did not go unnoticed, as he has been honored with several awards including the Outstanding Customer Service Award, Supervisor of the Year, and WCID No. 17’s highest recognition: Employee of the Year.
We are deeply grateful to Juan for his many years of outstanding service and the lasting impact he has made on our organization and the community we serve. Please join us in congratulating him on a well-earned retirement and in wishing him all the best in his future endeavors.
