Every year in the month of April, wastewater rates are updated. We take the consumption for the bill cycles of
November – December, December – January, and January – February and generate an average. This average is what the customer is charged for wastewater for the year.
*Please note that meter reading dates may vary each month, which can affect the billing period reflected on the invoice. To accurately verify the consumption period for your wastewater average calculation, we recommend reviewing the meter read dates displayed at the top of each bill
In the example above the consumption for the three bill cycles is totaled:
11060 + 9031.4 + 5392.9 = 25484.3
Then the total is divided by 3
25484.3 / 3 = 8494.7
The customer’s Wastewater Average would be 8495
COMMERCIAL
Commercial volumetric wastewater rates are not subject to winter averaging but are based on actual water use each month.
