In accordance with the WCID No. 17 Irrigation Ordinance, all irrigation systems require high-hazard backflow prevention devices with air gaps (RPZ type).
After completing an irrigation project, the installer should have the RPZ tested by a certified backflow tester. Once the backflow device has been tested, the installer may request the final inspection of the system. The inspector should be provided with a copy of the RPZ test certificate.
