Courtesy Notice to WCID No. 17 Customers:

Courtesy notice: WCID No 17 water remains safe and reliable following recent flooding, and no water-use restrictions are currently in effect.

We are aware that the WTCPUA is experiencing water production problems due to the recent floods. Please know that WCID No. 17 is NOT experiencing any issues with water production due to this event and our water remains 100% safe and reliable. WTCPUA’s water plant draws water from Lake Austin and after significant rainfall, more frequent filter cleaning and backwashing is required to maintain their drinking water quality standards, as a result they are asking their customers to limit their usage.

WCID No. 17 uses an entirely different micro filtration system that is highly effective in removing the particles that enter the Highland Lakes system after significant rainfall. This allows our plants to function normally, throughout conditions such as this. If the District were to issue any type of mandate for our customers, we would email each customer directly, as well as publish it on our website, Facebook and Instagram pages.

Thank you,

WCID No. 17
