Notice to Customers Regarding Stage 2 Water Restriction Violations

WCID No. 17 recently sent notices to more than 1800 customers who appear to be in violation of the District’s Stage 2 Water Restrictions. We ask customers who have a question about their notice to first check our website at WCID17.org to ensure they are watering on their correct day and time. If they still have questions, they are encouraged to call our office at 512.266.1111. (Due to the high volume of calls, our Customer Service Representatives may take up to 72 hours to return their call.)

A majority of affected customers have found the cause of the issue to be their irrigation controller. We greatly appreciate that many of our customers are watering correctly with one irrigation program on their irrigation controller, but upon investigation, many have found that they inadvertently had a second irrigation program also operating that was causing the issue.  This is a very common cause that can be verified by reviewing your home’s irrigation controller operations manual.

We greatly appreciate the public’s support as we move to ensure our usage of this precious resource is as efficient as possible. Our receding lake levels during record heat and ongoing drought have made this enforcement necessary. We are doing our best to ensure guidelines and regulations are met so we can help safeguard the drinking water for our future.

Thank you,

WCID No. 17
